Ralf Rangnick admits the late shake-up to Manchester United's April and May schedule was not something he was expecting, after learning the new date for our crucial Premier League game against Chelsea.
After Chelsea's FA Cup semi-final against Crystal Palace, our fixture against the Blues has now been confirmed.
“The fact that the Chelsea game was changed from the original fixture is something I didn’t think could happen,” said Rangnick, in our exclusive interview to discuss tonight’s clash with Liverpool.
“Normally in Germany, the last two games of the season have to be played on the very same day and with the same kick-off time. Obviously it’s different here.
“For us it’s not good because we have a number of injured players so it would have been better for the Chelsea game to be played two weeks later when it was originally planned. But anyway we have to deal with it and hopefully by then we have two or three of those injured players available again.”
Rangnick confirms five players will miss the game at Anfield, although there is positive news regarding Bruno Fernandes.
Ralf Rangnick's men head to Anfield with the aim of getting even closer to the Premier League's top four.
