The United States played to a scoreless draw against England on Friday, setting up a must-win game in its Group B finale against Iran on Tuesday.

Match favorite England seemed in control early on, but its initial pressure gave way to promising American opportunities that ultimately went to waste.

“I think both teams worked hard, both teams gave each other difficulties at times, and all in all, pleased with the effort,” U.S. Coach Gregg Berhalter said on the Fox broadcast of the match. “Any time you can get a shutout in the World Cup, it’s a good thing. We’re proud, but our work’s not done. We have to win on Tuesday.”
